Assistance Dogs Visit Early Years

On Tuesday 30th April, Lerryn Class had a visit from 'Assistance and Service Dogs'. They learned about different jobs working dogs do such as Police, Fire Rescue, Mountain rescue, Medical assistance and Sea Rescue. They enjoyed meeting Honey a 2 year old Golden Retriever who has nearly finished her training to be an Autism support dog, Reggie a black Labrador who was a water and mountain rescue dog, Marley a school emotional support and reading dog plus they were lucky enough to meet 4 Newfoundland puppies that were 6 weeks old who will be starting their training very soon. What a morning!

After the visit, Lerryn class then wrote thank you letters to Shona who gave up her time to bring her dogs and teach us about the important work she does.  We are all very grateful.
