Last week, Year One had a super day using all the design technology skills they have learnt this term to create a delicious picnic feast! During the term, they researched and taste tested food we could buy in the shops to see what they liked best and decided we could cook sandwiches, sausage rolls and school cake. They then looked at recipes and wrote shopping lists for the ingredients they would need.

On the big feast day, the children independently boiled eggs, grated cheese, spread butter on bread, mixed sausage meat with herbs, measured and cut pastry, weighed and sifted ingredients and much more! What a fantastic day they had.
