Owl Baking Competition and The Screech Owl Sanctuary Visit Dobwalls
This academic year at Dobwalls, our children's chosen charity is The Screech Owl Sanctuary. On Tuesday 3rd February, we held an owl themed baking competition. Wow, Dobwalls! Once again our children's baking skills astounded us! The owl themed cakes were truly excellent and delicious too! The winners chosen by The School Council were: Matilda, Beth, Nyla, Mina, Renley and Jude. Congratulations! They had such a tricky job to choose the winners.
As well as the bake sale, we were delighted to welcome Gary and Barney from The Screech Owl Sanctuary into an assembly. They brought with them an owl called Trelawney and a polecat called Steve. They told us how our fundraising will help and support them in their conservation projects and the Cornwall Stork Project. Did you know that owls grow to their full size by four months old?! We learnt lots of new and interesting facts. Amazing projects in action.
The total from the bake sale was nearly £200. The overall total for the year currently stands at £330! We will keep fundraising this year.
