Lerryn Class - EYFS

Miss Laing and Mrs Cotton (Tuesday) with Mrs Udy and Mrs Ferreira.

Welcome to our Early Years Foundation Stage Lerryn Class!

Our new starters quickly adapt into school life. Our first class topic is ‘All About Me’ and ‘The Three Little Pigs.’ We have great fun learning some actions for The Three Little Pigs story and have learnt some of the story off by heart.

Lerryn classroom and garden have plenty on offer to challenge and enthuse the children and is always changing to meet the needs of the children in the class and their personal interests. From trikes and sand pits to dressing up and building, there’s always something exciting to do!

Do keep your eye on Tapestry for lots of updates.

Storytelling

Developing vocabulary is so important for young children.  For example, listening to stories, making up stories, retelling stories, acting out stories, learning new words and more.

Ask your child if they can retell one of the stories below.  You could show them the pictures or prompt them with a few of the words from the texts here.

See the below document for more information on how we begin to teach children to read.  Please do support and encourage your children to read at home.  Little and often makes a huge difference.  Spend time reading and discussing stories with them as well as when they begin to use their sounds and recognise words.
